I moved to a new town for school. I’m 18 and just started college. I got a new doctor and I went for a routine gynecology exam. The doctor took out his smart phone and snapped some pictures of me spread wide open during the exam. I was surprised and I asked him about it and he said it was their procedure now. He said it is considered Best Practices. He’ll be able to compare the pics from my last visit to my next visit. I asked him if I had to get pics taken me at each visit. He said yes I did. He reminded that I signed a photo release in the papers I filled out at the desk. He said if I objected to additional photos that I’d have to find another doctor and that all the local doctors use the same procedure.
I said I was a little worried about photos of me naked and spread open. He told me that the photos are encrypted and secure in my records. That made me feel better. He had me sign another photo release just to be sure he had it in my records. Then he took a few more pics of me.
I should have asked to see the photos. I’m sure my face is included in some of them. I’m a little worried about him having nude photos of me showing me spread wide open like that. I asked a girlfriend and she said her doctor doesn’t do that but another girlfriend said her doctor took photos of her too.
I soon have another appointment and I already told him he could take photos of me each time and that I’m OK with it. Plus I signed the photo release and then signed it again. So I’m committed to it. I think I just worry too much. After all he’s already seen everything and examined everything, very thoroughly, so I guess he can take pics too. He is a nice guy and I don’t really a want to try to find another doctor.
