Right girl, wrong time

I fell in love with a girl in my early 20’s. I was young and dumb and cheated on her but she never knew. After a bit of guilt induced snooping, I found she had a light lesbian tryst. From there we moved out of state but things were never the same. After less than a year, we split. That was almost ten years ago and not a day goes by that I don’t still think of her. If only I had known. Too little, too late.

I’m married now with a small child, and I can confidently say that the thought of that girl appearing after all these years terrifies me.

What do you think?
