Crypto Loss Confession

I can’t believe that I fell for this: a random positive comment on an Instagram post led to a virtual relationship with a woman from Singapore. Flirtation led to interest, as our cultural interests (wine, France, crypto) dovetailed. I had invested in crypto for 2 years and was still waiting for a payout. My friend, Sophia, led me to a website where we were basically betting on short term changes in bitcoin values. She was getting information from her aunt regarding trends and our transactions (firstly, mine of the $10k variety, her’s of the $200K+ variety on 3 minute cycles) all paid off. That is the value of our accounts increased. Then she got me involved in being a bigger customer, an “intermediate VIP” (whose requirement I found out later was to deposit $800,000 to be able to get tax free payouts) let me to cash in my 401k money – some $400k+ – and more brokerage monies. Trying to get this money and my profits out, however, after having spent the vast majority of my capital, proved arduous, if not impossible. Even though she invested in my account with me, we haven’t been able to get a cent out of Cryptonex.org. I’m on the hook for an over $600k loss. I feel dumber than a rock and needed to express my failure. I’m pursuing recovery attempts but so far nothing has worked. I just feel dumber by the day…
