my grandmother used to make cooked preserved cherries in jars and mum and me loved them. one time we left it in the fridge and mum tasted it and it was like fermented nicely to a good bubbly, thus was my grandmothers fab cherry sparkling wines. Lets just say grandmothers cherries and her home grown strawberries were enough to stay home in childhood and teens for with some whipped cream and ice-cream. I have great memories with her making my birthday cake it was a Victoria Sponge strawberry cake with butter cream and rather naughty but nice , we made it together when I was 10 on the farm.
