Sideshow Bob’s Brilliance Saves Season 8

I just finished rewatching Season 8 of The Simpsons, and while it’s not the strongest season overall, there are some absolute gems. The writing feels a bit inconsistent, with some episodes relying too heavily on gimmicks (“The Springfield Files” comes to mind). However, when the show hits its stride, it’s pure gold.
The standout episodes for me are “Brother from Another Series” (Sideshow Bob’s hilarious return) and “You Only Move Twice” (Homer’s James Bond-esque adventure). These episodes showcase the clever wordplay, satire, and character development that make The Simpsons timeless.
Other notable mentions include “Lisa’s Date with Density” (Lisa’s crush on Nelson Muntz is both cringe-worthy and relatable) and “Homer vs. the Eighteenth Amendment” (a clever Prohibition-era parody).
While Season 8 may not be as iconic as earlier seasons, it still delivers plenty of laughs and memorable moments. If you’re a die-hard Simpsons fan like me, you’ll find plenty to love.
