Posting Rules

Confessions

All submissions MUST be a confession!

  • A confession is a statement acknowledging some personal fact that you would apparently prefer to keep hidden.
    • The term assumes that you are providing information that you believe other people in your life are not aware of, and may be an admission of a moral or legal wrong.
  • The confession you submit must be an action you committed
  • If the submission does NOT contain a confession it will be removed.
  • Typically an unpopular opinion is not a confession.
    • Regardless of whatever unpopular opinion you hold, it doesn’t classify here as a confession. You haven’t done anything wrong, so to speak, so it isn’t technically a confession.
  • uCONFESS is not a place for submissions that read like pornography.

1) Please Be Specific

The confessions you submit must be titled specifically!

  • Your title must relay a brief idea of what wrongdoing you have committed.
  • Any submissions with a vague title will be removed.
  • Avoid inputting multiple confessions into one. Try to go for one confession per post.
    • Adding multiple confessions in to one will lead to far more submissions that read like creative writing rather than the thoughts of real people.

2) We Do Not Encourage Bad Behavior

We will NOT accept posts that:

  • a) encourage rape/rape culture;
  • b) sexualize minors;
  • c) are racist; or
  • d) otherwise promote abusive or hateful behavior.
  • f) bring harm to animals

3) No Pedophilia Type Posts

We do NOT accept these types of confessions, even if you are seeking help and/or working on your situation.

  • We recommend you try seeking support from:
    • http://www.virped.org/ (18+ Only);
    • A counselor that can effectively aid you.
    • We at uCONFESS have listed these as potential starting points. We are not professionals in this area.

4) Limited Context

We do not accept posts with limited context.

  • Confessing only pieces or most cryptic of details isn’t the purpose of uCONFESS.

5) No Politics

Political-themed posts are not allowed.

  • There are many other websites to discuss your political views.

Commenting Rules

1) Be Kind and Civil

This is a place to help one another; keep your comments kind & civil. Any form of abuse is not permitted.

2) No False Post Accusations

Accusations of fake posts are not allowed

  • You may report spam posts. Please do not comment just to try to discredit the experience an Original Post has claimed. Please contact us so we may decide if it should be taken down instead.

3) No Trolling

No memes or trolling: There are many other websites for this type of content.

4) Do Not Attempt to Identify Poster

Not only is it against site wide rules, but attempts to identify posters undermines the comfort and reassurance that comes with remaining anonymous.

Removal Appeal Process

Follow the steps below to have your comment or post approved:

  1. Read the rules to determine which was violated,
  2. Remove the offending portion of your post or comments,
  3. Contact us.

If you have an issue with a specific post then report it. If you think a post is fake, please let us know by reporting or contacting us.
